Izzy Stradlin

Izzy Stradlin (real name Jeffrey Isbell) was born on 8 April 1962 in the small town of Lafayette, Indiana. The place was pretty boring, so Izzy, along with other teenagers amused by the fact that smoking grass and drove on bikes. Passion for music came in the life of a young Stradlin, along with teams like “Alice Cooper”and”Led Zeppelin”. but most guys like “Rolling Stones”. Begged my parents money on drums, Izzy’s friends organized a team that in the absence of other places could only play in the garage. One of the members of the gang was a certain William Bailey, later known worldwide under the name of Axl Rose.

Over time before Stradlin realized that in Indiana musical career he did not do, and he drums thrown into a car, he went to Los Angeles. Sure enough, there he was not met with open arms, and Izzy had some time to play in the third-gangs. First Stradlin remained true drum set, but then switched to guitar as accompaniment instrument that could come up with the song itself.

Just somewhere at this time Izzy met his long-time friend of Axl. Guys decided to resume the interrupted joint activities and organized the project “Rose”, later evolved into the “Guns N’Roses”. In this group Stradlin has officially acted as a guitarist, but its function is not limited. Along with Axl Izzy was the principal songwriter, “GNR”, and his pen belonged to such well-known things like “You Could Be Mine”, “Patience”, “Think About You”, “Mr. Brownstone”, “14 Years”, “Double Talkin ‘Jive “. Since 1985, Stradlin acquired “Gypsy”image, and in imitation of his idol Keith Richards started playing”classical” guitar.

The success of the “Hansa”was neimoveren, but with him on the musicians struck alcohol-narcotics problem. Izzy also did not escape this fate, but he was the first who managed to defeat the bad habits. It is said that one of the motives for”ties”was the arrest of a guitarist after he celebrated small need directly in the passenger cabin. With regard to the circumstances of the departure from the group, then there are different versions, but the fact remains – in November 1991, Stradlin left the”Guns N’Roses”.

Almost immediately after the resignation of the guitarist has organized its own project, with whom he recorded the disc “Izzy Stradlin & The Ju Ju Hounds”, sounds like opus “Rolling Stones”. The album had some success, but the group was soon dissolved. In 1993, Izzy substituted in the “GNR”Gilby Clarke on the European tour and return home took a break from show business. A few years Stradlin just enjoyed life, and his new hobby started the race. Finally, in 1998,”Geffen Records”released his second solo album,”117 °”. The album was recorded in the long run just for fun, so no promotion was not followed.

At the turn of the millennium also came without fanfare three solo works Stradlin, “Ride On”, “River”and”On Down The Road”. In 2003 it was recorded another disc, “Like A Dog”, but for some reason, the guitarist refused to release it officially, and only at the request of the fan club has been printed about 1,000 copies. Somewhat earlier Izzy disown proposals to reunite with former colleagues in the project “Velvet Revolver”. but in 2006 it can be seen, along with Axl Rose on some concerts “Guns N’Roses”.
