Bruce was born on November 23, 1954 in Williamsburg, Virginia. A graduate of the University of Miami and Berklee School of Music (Berklee School of Music), he started his musical career by playing in bars. In the years 1980-83, along with his brothers, Bob and John Hornsby, wrote the music for the film company «20th Century Fox». After recording a few demos, in 1985 Bruce established his own pop-rock band «The Range».
