Paul Antony Young was born in Luton 17 January 1956. The middle of three children in the family, the boy became interested in early music and was a standard way from piano to guitar. After school, Paul and his father went to work at the factory “Vauxhall Motor”, but did not give up his passion, and in the evenings he played in various ensembles. In his first group of Young he acted as a bass player, but he already wanted to be a soloist, and in the end he sang. Although his favorite soul in those days was not very popular, Paul tried to stick to this trend. As the frontman, he made his debut in “Kat Kool & The Kool Kats”, and later dabbled in “new wave”along with”Streetband”. In December 1979, the group disbanded, but almost immediately on its ruins arose “Q-Tips”, to refocus on the retro-soul in the spirit of “Motown”. During the three years of endless European concerts Young perfected his skills as a singer and as a showman, but the number is too large “Q-Tips” worked against them in the battle for the contract they are always losing nyuveyvovym and synth-Popov duets and triplets.

By the end of 1982, the band broke up, and Paul immediately began a solo career, signing a deal with the “CBS / Sony”. His pilot single “Iron Out The Rough Spots”in spite of the strong support from the radio is not able to catch the attention of the general public, and the same fate befell the second mignon with a reggae cover of”Love Of The Common People”.

Success came to Young at the third attempt, when he covered the “Wherever I Lay My Hat (That’s My Home)”Marvin Gaye. Almost all of the summer 1983, the song has topped the British charts, and the album was released in July,”No Parlez”is located at the first position. The next single,”Come Back and Stay”is not only the singer and brought to the US market, but also helped him in setting personal life – on the set of the corresponding clip, he met his future wife, Stacey Smith. While the public is swept away from the shelves”No Parlez”, Paul activated touring, for which he paid the first problems with the vocal cords. About a year he had to spend in silence, but in 1985 he returned in triumph and released a second landscape charttopper “The Secret Of Assotiation”with mostly a hit of his career”Everytime You Go Away”(which borrowed from the repertoire of the duo”Hall & Oates” ). The following polnometrazhki singer tried to get away from the covers and focused on original material, resulting in a single strong hit on the album was not.

Although the “Between Two Fires”was in the Top Ten and reached the platinum level, this success can be attributed to the previous achievements of the artist. In 1989, Young appeared at the concert dedicated to Nelson Mandela. There he performed the song”Crowded House””Do not Dream It’s Over”, and subsequently at the request of fans put this thing on the compilation”From Time To Time”.

From the long tour and sitting in the studio for a long time, Paul refrained (Beach voice), but in 1990 released a CD “Other Voices”. Here again, the musician returned to a cover and one of them, “Oh Girl”, the original executable “The Chi-Lites”, the second hit the US top ten. In 1991, Young sang along with her Italian friend Dzukkerro and their duet “Senza Una Donna (Without a Woman)”became a worldwide smash hit. The following year, Paul toured a lot, and the culmination of the tour was the appearance on a tribute concert Freddie Mercury. where he performed”Radio Gaga”. His new album “The Crossing”concluded co-operation with”Sony”, and marked the departure from the new wave of arrangements that characterized his early work. Also in 1993, Young briefly revived the “Q-Tips”, and for his own pleasure organized Tex-Mex band “Los Pacaminos”.

After releasing a compilation of soul covers Christmas “Reflections”, the musician has disappeared from view, but in 1997 he returned to the plate “Paul Young”. The album opened to the public the new Yang, a couple of things on this disc have adopted such artists as the country “The Wilkinsons”and Ray Vega. Although the late ’90s musician pays more attention to the project”Los Pacaminos”, in 2006, he found time to record a solo album “Rock Swings: On The Wild Side Of Swing”, which proved to be a master of swing.
