Garvin John “Johnny” Weir-Voronov was born July 2 1984 , in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. His mother, Pamela Weir worked as a social inspector, and his father, John Weir almost worked. Since the year of birth of the son he suffered in a car accident and injured his back, and then got a disability.

As a child Johnny was a successful horse rider. At age 12, Weir began to skate, and soon his family moved to Newark, Delaware to be closer to the training rink and coach.

summer 2007 , the Weir moved to a small town not far from Wayne, New Jersey. Johnny graduated from the school in Newark and in absentia studied linguistics at the University of Delaware. During one of the training Man noticed coach Priscilla Hill, and soon began to engage with him.

The 2001 , at the age of 16, Johnny Weir won the first major victory, he won a gold medal at the World Junior Championships.
