British actor John Hopkins is known to many viewers around the world for his role in the film «Purely English murder».

In 2003, John Hopkins was in the cast of the popular television series “Midsomer Murders” as a sergeant Dan Scott. It happened in the seventh season, when Hopkins was replaced by actor Daniel Casey. who played Sergeant Troy. and became a new partner Inspector Burnaby.

Many spectators reacted unfavorably to replace Casey Hopkins, as the 6-plus seasons accustomed to a peculiar humor and demeanor Sergeant Troy. However, the return of Daniel Casey in the project at that time was not possible, and the role of the new Sergeant Hopkins was left behind as the next season.
