Laura Marling

Modern British singer in the style of folk guitarist and songwriter. The first of her albums were nominated for the British award ‘Mercury Prize’, and hit the charts.

She was born Laura Beatrice Marling (Laura Beatrice Marling) in 1990, in the English county of Hampshire (Hampshire). She was the youngest of three daughters of a music teacher, and from an early age began to learn to play the guitar. By the way, my father taught Laura to folk music and generally formed her musical tastes and preferences. She studied at the school Laura Leighton Park School, a private Quaker school in Reading (Reading, Berkshire).

At the age of 16 Laura went to London (London), and soon she was became a member of the British indie folk band ‘Noah and the Whale’. By the way, at that time she was already in a romantic relationship with singer and guitarist Charlie Fink (Charlie Fink). However, remained in the group, Laura long – after the first album ‘Peaceful, the World Lays Me Down’, where it appears a backing singer, she was the group left, at the same time parting with Charlie Fink, it was in 2008.

By the way, the girl was following her boyfriend Marcus Mumford (Marcus Mumford), the founder and leader of the group ‘Mumford & Sons’. Marcus and Laura broke up in 2010.

Despite the fact that Laura Marling is still not launched its own project, it is well known on the British scene and actively invited to cooperate. So, it became a very large work with Jamie T (Jamie T), and besides, she has performed with Alan Green (Adam Green) from ‘The Moldy Peaches’.

In February 2008, Marling released her first album – ‘Alas, I Can not Swim’. Later that year the album

m was nominated for the British music award ‘Mercury Prize’.

The second album of the singer came in 2010 and was called the ‘I Speak Because I Can’. He also earned a very vaunted reviews and hit the charts in Britain and again received a nomination for ‘Mercury Music Prize’.

Soon Laura Marling gained a huge popularity, it began to appear on TV – among other things, she was a guest on the show ‘The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson’ and ‘Later With Jools Holland’. Among her awards – the title of ‘best performer’ at the awards ceremony ‘Brit Awards’. By the way, this victory later called “one of the major surprises’ at the ceremony ‘Brit Awards’ in 2011.

The third album Marling called ‘A Creature I Do not Know’ and was released in 2011. In the fall of 2012 Marling drove a short tour round the USA.

In February 2013 expected fourth official album Marling, she told about it in an interview.
