Well-known film director, screenwriter and producer, Guillermo del Toro was born in Mexico, in Guadalajara (Jalisco), 9 October 1964. His upbringing of a child engaged grandmother, convinced and very conservative Catholic. It is not surprising that Guillermo studied not in a regular school, and at the Catholic boys. Despite this training, Guillermo always been a fan of science fiction and horror films. He literally thrilled by watching films such as: “Night of the Living Dead & raquo ;,”Black Sunday” et al. like. His main dream at the time was to become a director of a science fiction movie. At the age of 8 years, studying at a Catholic school, he shot his first video.

Growing up, the young del Toro moved to the US to study grimerskomu skill and special effects by the legendary master Dick Smith, known for its special effects for films “exorcist & raquo ;,”Hunger” and others.

In 1986, Guillermo returned to Mexico and founded his own studio for the production of special effects called “Nekropiya & raquo ;. For several years he was involved in the creation of special effects for films and TV series (for example,”Tales from the Crypt”), as well as in journalism and literature.

World famous Guillermo Del Toro got in 1993 after the release of his film “Chronos”- Modern saga about vampires. The inimitable style of Guillermo was approved by the film critics, and the film won many awards. After a while, the novice director was invited to Hollywood to work on the painting”Mutants”(1997) the company Miramax. However, cooperation with Hollywood studios failed, and draw your own conclusions about Hollywood in general and some of the studios in particular, Del Toro returned to their homeland to create his own studio”Tequila Gang”.

Another famous work was the horror film director “The Devil’s Backbone”(2001), filmed in Spain. The film also brought Guillermo numerous film awards and favorable attitude of critics. After that Del Toro’s career went steeply up the hill, and, reconciled with Hollywood, the director accepted an invitation to a sequel of the famous”Blade”- Sequel to”Blade 2″ (2002). The film was accompanied by a tremendous success and a huge box office.

In the future, Guillermo del Toro had no problems with orders. He became the director of such films as: “Hellboy: The hero from hell”(2004),”Pan’s Labyrinth”(2006),”Hellboy II: The Golden Army” (2008).

During “Pan’s Labyrinth”Del Toro was nominated for”Oscar”Best Screenplay. and won”Nebula” in the same category.

Now the popular director a lot of work – in the near future is expected to announce his new paintings in the genre of fantasy.
