“The local elections are of local importance. This is not a test for me, there are no consequences for the government. It’s just the regional elections”, – Renzi said, speaking on Saturday at the economic Festival in the northern Italian city of Trento.

However, in spite of that statement the prime minister, traditionally attention of local media and political observers called to the election of governors, because of their results it becomes clear what is currently supporting the ruling party and the opposition in a particular area.

In particular, the Veneto good chance of winning is the acting governor of the party “Lega Nord”Luke Dzayya, which also supports the party of former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi’s”Forza Italia”. His main opponents considered the Democratic candidate Alessandra Moretti and the mayor of Verona, Flavio Tosi.

The main candidates in Liguria considered center-left coalition candidate Raffaella Paita, a member of the party “Forza Italia”Giovanni Toti and a representative of the opposition forces –”Movement 5 Stars” Alice Salvatore. A similar alignment is observed in the Marche, Tuscany and Umbria.

In Puglia, where during the last 10 years, the governor was the leader of the “Left. Ecology. Freedom” Niki Vendola, outgoing, his place will compete seven people, but the best chances of winning are regional secretary of the Democratic Party, Michele Emiliano and representative center-right coalition Adriana Poli Borton.

In the campaign the main contenders for the post of governor considered the acting head of the field Stefano Kaldor and former mayor of Salerno Vincenzo De Luca, who heads the center-left coalition of forces led by the Democratic Party.

It is noteworthy that the name De Luca, who is under investigation for a number of high-profile cases and is already recognized by the court of Naples guilty of malicious slander, two days before the election was called in the number of unwanted candidates who have serious problems with the Italian Themis. The corresponding list of 17 people prepared the parliamentary committee on the fight against the Mafia.

will be reflected or not the announcement of the list on the election results in the campaign and the distribution of votes in other regions of the country, it will be known on 1 June. As the website of the Ministry of Interior of Italy, the counting of the votes will start immediately after the polls closed.
